I have just seen this most amazing aircraft for sale. I have been thinking about buying one for a long time but it is not something that you just buy on the spur of the moment! I have a few ideas of what I would like and I have decided that for my budget I will need to buy something second hand. Obviously you need to get something of good quality when you are going to be flying it high up in the air but there are plenty of used aircraft around which are perfectly good. It is rather like buying a used car I suppose, you usually get what you pay for. I have a particular model in mind, which restricts my choice somewhat and that makes the hunt easier as there are quite a few around. I have seen several which look good but the sellers live too far away so I will not be able to go and fetch them. I have decided to advertise in my local paper and see if anyone has anything which is closer that I might like. I will also look in the paper to see if anyone is selling and maybe I will find one that way.

Saturday, May 30th, 2009How do you keep yourself occupied on long road trips?
Saturday, August 16th, 2008<!– /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:”"; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-fareast-font-family:”Times New Roman”;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} –>
Any ideas?
I assume you’re a passenger? I usually listen to my iPod or to the radio, read, doodle, watch movies, talk on the phone, etc. I talked to a friend of mine on the phone for an hour in the car on my last long road trip and it really helped to pass the time. It’s also fun to take pictures of billboards or interesting buildings. The absolute best way to occupy yourself, though, is to sleep. Sleeping passes the time the best and it ensures that you will be well-rested when you arrive somewhere! =)
Four ULFA militants killed ahead of I-Day in Assam
Friday, August 15th, 2008Four separatists have been killed Wednesday in two separate gun battles with security forces in India’s northeastern state of Assam, even as a massive security alert was sounded across the region with the rebels announcing a boycott of the country’s Independence Day.
A police spokesman said two militants of the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) were killed in a shoot-out with a joint team of the police and the soldiers in western Assam’s Bongaigaon district.
“The two ULFA militants on bicycles were challenged by security forces, but the rebels lobbed a grenade and tried to escape when they were shot dead,” a police official said.
The security forces did not suffer any casualties.
In another incident in the adjoining Nalbari district, two more ULFA militants were killed in a shoot-out.
The police, the paramilitary and the army were put on a high alert across Assam, ahead of I-Day.
“We are not taking chances. The police across Assam have been put on high alert and we are bent on thwarting any subversive activity by the militants,” said Assam’s Director General of Police R.N. Mathur.
Thousands of army, police and paramilitary troopers are standing guard in other northeastern states, particularly Manipur, where militants Tuesday launched a grenade attack on the ancestral home of Manipur Agriculture Minister Loken Singh.
“The minister was not at home during the attack at our house in Bishnupur district. No one was injured,” said his brother Sanjoy Singh.
In Assam, unidentified militants lobbed a grenade Monday at the office premises of the superintendent of police in the western Bongaigaon district, creating panic, but no damage.
Four frontline separatist groups in the region have called a boycott of Independence Day celebrations Aug 15 and have called a general strike from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. on that day.
The four rebel groups that have announced their boycott through a statement e-mailed to journalists are the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), Manipur People’s Liberation Front (MPLF) - comprising several major militant outfits in the state - the Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) and the Tripura People’s Democratic Front (TPDF).
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has cancelled all night trains passing through the region until Aug 16.
“We do not want to risk the lives of passengers. The people would certainly understand our compulsions,” said a NF Railway spokesman.
It has now become routine for separatist rebel groups in the northeast to call for boycott of all important days in the Indian national calendar, chief among those days being the Independence Day and the Republic Day Jan 26.
“This may be a routine call by the rebels but the authorities cannot afford to take things easy because Aug 15, 2004, the ULFA triggered a blast at an Independence Day parade in Assam’s Dhemaji town, killing more than 10 schoolchildren,” said Wasbir Hussain, director of the Guwahati-based Centre for Development and Peace Studies, a think-tank.
At your special service, say hotels to women guests
Friday, August 15th, 2008Mumbai, Aug 12 (IANS) Now women have an added reason to travel alone! Leading Indian hotels are offering exclusive wings, separate floors and specialised services to protect and pamper them - a new concept in the country.
The ITC hotel chain, for instance, has Eva Floors - floors dedicated to women where men are simply not allowed.
“Since security is the prime concern, we bar men from entering this floor. The lifts don’t stop at the floor unless you swipe the lift board with your room key card,” says Dhunji Kavarna, general manager at Mumbai’s ITC Maratha.
“Even hotel staff such as butlers and housekeepers are women on these floors,” he says.
With the number of women business travellers shooting up in recent years, the hospitality industry in India has begun to catch up with international trends - sensitising their services to meet the women travellers’ specific needs.
The Taj Group, the Oberois, JW Mariott, Hyatt, everyone has something special on offer for the woman traveller.
“Being sensitive to the needs of the woman travelling alone is a good concept. Extra security concern is equally welcome,” says Devita Saraf, executive director, Zenith Computers.
She personally prefers ITC hotels during her business trips.
The Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi has a separate ladies’ wing. It also employs woman butlers or chauffeurs who assist guests while shopping or travelling in the city.
Many hotel rooms have been sensitised to women’s needs - with provisions for sunscreen lotions, moisturisers, deep cleansing milk, scrubs, soft textured towels, satin bathrobes and silk slippers.
The food menu offers special health-oriented delicacies and low calorie options keeping women in mind.
Says Pankaj Sampat, general manager, Taj President, in Mumbai’s upmarket Cuffe Parade area: “There are skirt hangers in the cupboard, vanity mirrors for makeup, flowers, international women’s magazines and a well designed cosmetics boxes in our rooms.”
Hotels in India began to offer such specialised services several years ago, but exclusive rooms and floors are a more recent phenomenon.
“This is an international trend and one must stay on a par with world class services,” says Sampat.
The hotel, is yet to offer exclusive floors, but is planning to increase the number of its women-only rooms from eight to 12.
ITC Maurya Sheraton & Towers, Delhi, was the first hotel to offer the concept of Eva Floors - dedicating an entire floor with standardised facilities to women guests.
The ITC Maratha, which has 18 rooms exclusively for women, also provides a videophone in each room to check from inside who’s at the door. All calls are screened.
The Eva Floors don’t stop at security alone. Even for a drink after a hard day’s work, there is a ladies-only lounge. And for that there is no need to step off the exclusive floor.
“Ladies can also indulge in beauty treatments and spa facilities which are available at a discount. We also offer astrology and palm reading facilities while meditation, reiki and yoga classes are offered free of cost,” said Kavarna.
The service staff also helps with special requests like unpacking, packing, and even draping a sari for foreign guests. These “Eva Floor” services are offered in all ITC hotels at no extra cost.
Even if they don’t have dedicated floors, most business hotels worth their salt have at least woken up to the issue.
To ensure optimum security, most hotels these days at least offer free pick-up and drop-off services from the airport and rooms are offered near well-lit elevators where guards are present.
“We do not have dedicated rooms but we provide extra security and care to unescorted women guests,” says Deepa Sridhar, corporate communications manager, Sarovar Hotels Pvt Ltd.
As more and more women join the “travelling” club, even the corner guesthouse will be forced to offer sensitised facilities that are now exclusive five-star offerings, say industry experts.
Who knows then, instead of turning white with worry, perhaps loved ones back home would be turning green with envy!

We received a quote on a taxi service to travel 31 miles from Philadelphia Airport to a private residence in Clayton, N. J. As you can guess, the taxi is quite expensive. Does anyone know the name of a shuttle service that will take us to our destination and drop us off at a private residence in Clayton, N.J.?
take Rapid Rover. http://www.rapidrover.com/. A few family members and friends have taken it. Two adults and two children will be around $64. There is a quot option on their web page. Philadelphia Airports’ web page has some other services as well.
When you get to your destination, try Super Shuttle (it doesnt have a branch at PHL). If you are a USAirways FF, you can book on-line and save $2 per ticket.
What is the most beatiful place in New Mexico?
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008<!– /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:”"; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-fareast-font-family:”Times New Roman”;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} –>
Oh wow, VERY tough question!!!
It really depends on what you want to do with all the beauty throughout New Mexico.
My first thought was Jemez (HAY-mez) Springs and the Valles Caldera National Preserve, the Jemez Mountains National Sceninc Byway, all of that Jemez/Sandoval County area is beautiful.
I am also partial to the area between Silver City and Reserve, along the Arizona border: Mogollon Mountains, Aldo Leopold and Gila Wilderness…
——
Well some of the famous (but not that famous) places in NM are White Sands and probably Carlsbad Caverns.
You know Taos is very pretty (where Julia Roberts resides). Santa Fe is pretty (but also a rich$$ city). Albuquerque is a busy city. Las Cruces just has the Organ Mountains.
If you’re into nature, hiking, and/or fishing, I suggest Ruidoso or Cloudcroft. When I was in high school, our orchestra stayed in a cabin in Cloudcroft for a week, and it was so fun. Local shops were fun, hiking was fun…..

I’ve only been through there once several years ago, but I really enjoyed the drive between Santa Fe and Taos. The brilliant red rocks, plateaus and barren desert - awesome light and air. That whole 4 Corners area is amazing.
