Boarding School

Boarding schools have been around long enough yet they are more common in the west than in eastern countries. These schools are primarily set up to give, not only good education for their students, but also food and lodging. Most students who attend such educational institutions have to stay longer at school than at home. Most spend majority of their childhood and adolescent lives in these schools. When parents agree in such a setup, they are actually training their children, the earliest time possible, to be independent in all aspects. Most wealthy families send their children to such schools.

Teenagers (whether the behaved ones or the troublemakers) could definitely benefit from such a setup. For those who do not have any behavioral issues, a teen boarding school would suffice where they would be educated in preparation for their college lives.

Boot camps for teens, on the other hand, are there mainly to make right what could be a wrong adolescent period for most juvenile delinquents. This, of course, depends on how the parents view this type of setup. Boot camps teach discipline and respect for others which some teens could pick up and where others might not. Parents should be very careful in sending their children to such schools. They should first consult with a competent psychologist before actually enrolling their teens.
