I have just been looking in to getting a new computer as my laptop is so slow. I have been putting up with it for a while because it was cheap and I didn’t want to pay out too much money for a new one but it is getting beyond a joke. However, buying a new one has not been as easy as I thought as I have got so much to think about with regards to the specification that I require. I need to have something which is good enough to last for some time so that I do not have to replace it or replace the parts for some time. I have started by looking at the printed circuit board and worked forwards from there making a list of all of the features that I want so that I get as close to that as possible. Of course there are all sorts of options just for the circuit board such as flexible PCB’s and things like that and I know that if I get carried away with worry about each tiny detail like this then I will never get the list done let alone find a computer that fits my specification. It is therefore important to not get too carried away with the details and just get one with the list.

I love Christmas shopping, especially for children. It always brings back memories for me of childhood Christmases. There are specific toys that I remember getting and all of the excitement about the big day. For me it is all about the food and the company but back then it was, just about Father Christmas and the presents. This is why I am very careful when I shop for children, to make sure they get the best possible presents. I have been searching around to find something for my cousin’s children. The older one is a teenager and I will be buying her some Betty Boop collectibles which I know that she will love. However, it is the younger one that I want to be more careful about as I know that it will be much more magical for her. I think that she might like a toy or game and I have been looking at some Dr seuss games and I think she might find them fun. It will probably not be such a magical present as a toy, but at least she will able to play it with her family and they should all have a good time together. I know that we used to play at Christmas and use the sweets that we found in our stockings as presents!

I need to really get a move on soon. I am just about to move house and although I am all sorted out with the packing and legal arrangements I need to sort out my moving announcements. With it being so close to Christmas and the holiday season, everyone is keen to have my new address in time to send my cards and so I will need to get some printed off to send out. I really need to get choosing the ones that I am going to buy so that as soon as I actually move in I can send them off. I am also planning on having a Christmas party which will also be a house warming. It should be great fun and I am hoping that I will have time to do it but if I can sorted with the little details such as the party invitations then it will be a lot less effort when I actually start to organise it properly. There is so much to do and I am just looking forward to when I am all moved in and settled in and Christmas is here!

My sons have just decided that they would like to be in a band. They are allowed to try out different instruments at school and so I want them to take up this opportunity first and find out whether there is anything that they prefer first. I do not want to buy the guitars and the peavey amps that he is keen on them having until I am sure that they are going to use them more than just a few times. I am actually keener on getting some remo drumheads as I have always wanted to try them out but I am trying to stay neutral on this one. I am secretly hoping they decide it is all a bit too much like hard work as I think that I will get pretty annoyed with the noise!
